With an academic background in computer science and artificial intelligence, I have been working as a data science leader in the cybersecurity industry for over a decade. I love helping teams and companies grow throughout those messy early years. I specialize in developing analytic and product strategies, leading execution focused engineering and data science teams, and communicating complex technical concepts to customers and business leaders. In collaboration with many excellent colleagues, I have published dozens of peer-reviewed academic papers and patents.
Currently I am the Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Resilience (formerly Arceo). We are shifting the economics of cyber risk by aligning security and insurance. We’re headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Baltimore, New York, London, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Previously I was Principal Data Scientist at Baltimore-based cybersecurity company RedOwl. We were acquired by Forcepoint, where I served as the Chief Data Scientist for User & Data Security.
I graduated with a PhD in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. My advisor was Chris Callison-Burch, and I also worked closely with Alex Klementiev and David Yarowsky. I was a Graduate Fellow at the Human Language Technology Center of Excellence. My dissertation was on machine translation for low resource languages and domains.
I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and received my undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. I earned a Masters in Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I'm a quilter, mother, ultramarathoner, and proud Baltimorean.
